Fine Bites and Daydrinking on Oeder Weg

A café by day, a wine bar by night – with everything in between that makes for a good day on Oeder Weg. Since its opening in summer 2025, PIKÁ has quickly established itself as a fixed address in Nordend. As soon as the weather cooperates, tables move onto the sidewalk. At events, guests spill out onto the street with drinks and music, and an afternoon coffee often turns into a long evening.

Inside, little is left to chance: Exposed brick walls, distinctive lighting, and an illuminated bar define a space that is as clearly curated as the menu – fitting for a concept where café, restaurant, and wine bar seamlessly blend.

Fabian Saalfeld is responsible for the culinary signature. His career began with chef training at Frankfurt Airport and led him through various stations in the Rhine-Main region and the hotel management school in Heidelberg, eventually taking him abroad. He worked in the USA, Qatar, Mexico, and Australia, among other places, before taking over the kitchen at Artis by Tristan Brandt in Arosa, Switzerland. Under his culinary direction, the restaurant was awarded a Michelin star in 2025. Saalfeld then returned to the Rhine-Main region and founded PIKÁ with Don Prapha and Anni Saalfeld.

He translates his international experience into a deliberately casual format here. Instead of a classic fine-dining menu, Fine Bites are served: small, precisely composed dishes that are best ordered across the board and shared. Tuna Tataki with ponzu and lime, smoked trout with buttermilk, or burrata with kimchi indicate the direction – internationally conceived, aromatic, and without unnecessary formality.

Even non-alcoholic, the beverage menu remains on par. Sencha Épicé and Oolong Orange, two of our Sparkling Teas, are featured on it.

Sencha Épicé brings spicy freshness to the glass with herbs, ginger, and lemongrass, and pairs particularly well with the Asian-inspired flavors and fish dishes on the menu. Oolong Orange presents itself softer and fruitier with notes of orange, peach, and gardenia – for an aperitif, with burrata, or for relaxed day drinking on Oeder Weg.

A place for afternoon coffee, evening fine bites, and that one glass that unintentionally turns into a second.
